Cape Verde are LEGIT. Whatever happens in this period of extra time what they’ve done in this tournament is nothing short of remarkable. They’ve really set the standard for “smaller” teams and have proven that an efficient style of play can get you through it regardless of personnel. An absolutely fearless approach.
Without question the story of the World Cup so far. They’ve won the footballing world over. RESPECT!

@CroatiaFooty Croatia couldn’t have possibly given anymore than they did in that second half. The senior players really stepped up and Kovacic in particular had the game of his life. A performance to be very proud of. I think I’ll need a few days to process Lukas final game, this can’t be it😢
Portugal vs Croatia. Ronaldo vs Modric.
One last World Cup dance for either of these two legends. Unfortunately, one will have to lose! It’s going to be a pleasure watching this one!

@R_by_Ryo Thanks for the foreign coach clarity! I’m seeing talks of either Hiroshi Nanami or Go Oiwa. What’s the general consensus amongst the Japanese fans regarding the potential new coach? What are your personal thoughts? Thanks for the reply!
Job done for England. Full credit to DR Congo for their performance, really daring and gutsy display, four at the back and gave it a really good go. A top effort from a good side and a tournament to be proud of for them. Abandoned the five back they played against Portugal and Colombia and with their back 4 they really went for it as you should in a KO fixture.
As for England, not pretty, but it doesn’t always have to be. Tuchel got the changes spot on, particularly for the right side with Eze and Saka. It really added life to Englands attacking play combining with Rice via triangles. Eze even arriving into the box and being behind Kane to pick up any scraps.
Gordon was very dangerous from the left hand side as well England are blessed with talent out wide, a bit too reliant on wide play? Perhaps. They are very good on the ball and didn’t seem to lose their in possession structure. Although it must be said, the out of possession sequences left a lot to be desired and improvements need to be made before the Mexico clash.

The people of Mexico live and breathe football. I’m glad they finally have a competitive national team that they can get behind. Unbeaten in 11 games and taking full advantage of being on home soil👏
Viva Mexico caaaaa… 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽

Absolutely superb finish from Nusa. A direct player who can unlock even the most stubborn defences. He will surely be on many teams watch lists this transfer window.
Really impressed with how Morocco have carried themselves this tournament. They’ve made sure that 2022 wasn’t just a flash in the pan. Their progression from wanting to sit back, be difficult to break down and counter into now a team that has the capacity to dominate the ball and put a lot of pressure on the big teams in possession.
Also, massive credit to Mohamed Ouahbi. As brave as it gets in terms of in game substitutions. Bringing on three under 21 players in a game of that magnitude is nothing short of admirable. High risk, high reward.
👏 🇲🇦
Morocco are the best drilled African side at this World Cup.
The organisation, tactical clarity and collective understanding they’ve shown has been outstanding throughout.
Huge credit to Mohamed Ouahbi here, he’s done a brilliant job harnessing the talent at his disposal and moulding it into a coherent, functional unit.
They aren’t a team relying on individual brilliance to bail them out, every single player understands their role, the structure, and the collective objectives both in/out of possession: what stands out most is the cohesion. pressing triggers are sharp, spacing is disciplined, defensive distances stay compact, and the attacking patterns look properly rehearsed rather than improvised on the day.
That’s the mark of excellent coaching.
Elite individual talent with that level of tactical organisation and collective buy-in and you get a team capable of competing with absolutely anyone. Morocco have looked exactly that.
