What I love about Art Deco is that it's rooted in the idea of objective beauty/goodness.
It's one of the last art movements that doesn't feel compelled to "subvert" or "deconstruct" anything: it simply seeks to create the most beautiful, opulent displays because beauty is good.
Athleisure. Slop Bowls. Scrolling/Vaguely paying attention. Seeking comfort.distractions. status games or seeking pleasure. Lacking gratitude, purpose or presence and instead accepting these small deaths.
What do you need to recalibrate this week to better serve your purpose?
“Love is such a priceless treasure that you can buy the whole world with it, and redeem not only your own but other people's sins. Go, and do not be afraid.”
Become capable so you can shoulder your burdens and the burdens of others.
Still, you’ll find a friend in need and won’t know how to help. Those days, just your presence and love is all that’s required.
How do you spell love?
