Hello everyone! Long time no see...! Following Certain Developments on this site, we've been pretty absent, but we've finally actually made a Tumblr for our stuff, so if you want to keep more up to date, head on over: https://t.co/Apm7GsBK45
You may be wondering where we've been, but fortunately we're still alive and still doing Witch Hat! Unfortunately, one half of us is doing a PhD and the other is in final year of a science course. So, uh, expect this silence to continue for a little while yet
Twitter can be a very useful tool for the PhD student, but one should also be careful of the two twitter poles of toxic over-productivity on the one hand, and the 'I'm leaving academia for these reasons' threads on the other. (1/5)

Mundane Halloween is back!
Japan does Halloween better than anyone, but best of all is the annual "mundane Halloween" contest sponsored by website @dailyportalz.

Here are some of my favorites from this year...
Have the Brits considered inviting someone to set up a colonial regime in their country in order to stabilise their politics? Clearly they need some governors from an enlightened country to step forward and show them how to run it
They're destroying the English language with pronouns! It must be stopped. Words have FIXED MEANINGS, and that is my final ejaculation on the matter for the nonce.
