February is Black History Month, which provides all members of The Wolf Pack Family an opportunity to celebrate the heritage, achievements and cultural contributions of Black communities here on our campus and beyond. We are especially proud of the accomplishments and contributions that Black students, faculty, staff and alumni make each and every day in furthering our University’s mission.
I wish to encourage you in recognizing and celebrating the many achievements of Black communities through Black History Month events that will be held in the coming days on campus. You can find out more about the events that are listed below, including times and locations, by regularly checking the website for @TheCenterUNR. https://t.co/4j2ZxprZaY
The @unevadareno would like to express our gratitude and thank @VP Kamala Harris for visiting our campus today! This was an historic visit for our University, and a great experience for the students, staff and faculty in attendance.
We absolutely loved our Powwow celebration last week! This marks an annual time when we invite our Native communities to connect with one another and the @unevadareno campus.
And congratulations to our newly crowned Mr. and Miss Indigenous, Cal Boone and Arianna Wahwasuck!
The Grand Entry at today’s Powwow was spectacular. The beauty of the regalia and the sounds of the drums were so moving. Thank you to everyone who planned and
participated in today’s event! #GoPack
Throwback… Wednesday?
Last month we held our Joining the Pack Program which focused on giving future Pack scholars a chance to familiarize themselves with the UNR campus. We covered everything from clubs & orgs., fitness & rec., counseling services, and much more!

Celebrating Lunar New Year in a safe, welcoming environment shouldn’t be a privilege. It’s a holiday meant to be celebrated by people of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds.
It was our honor to have hosted a Lunar New Years celebration this week in remembrance of the Monterey Park victims. Thank you to everyone who was involved and attended the vigil.
Lunar New Year is meant to be a public celebration lead by Asian culture and communities. As we reminisce on the devastating events this past weekend, The Center sends its hearts to the families and victims affected by this celebration turned tragedy.
With gun violence continuously on the rise, this targeted event towards the predominantly AAPI community in Monterey Park cannot be taken lightly. Check out @StopAAPIHate to learn how you can help. GoFundMe link also in bio.
