There are only two reasons you continue to use the phrase #AllLivesMatter in response to #BlackLivesMatter:
1. You're willfully ignorant.
or
2. You're actually racist.
That's it. It's been broken down, it's been explained logically, and you've been presented with your choice.
We’re going to have to disagree on this, it would seem. Watch the end of his special. He’s flailing in it. And “roast” comedy does lack nuance by definition. It’s just straight forward punching. And for it to be good, it has to be delivered well. 🤷 But again, seems we’ll have to disagree.
I’ve genuinely never seen something funny from this guy. Reminds me of Rogan’s “comedy” but somehow even worse. But if you listen closely, you’ll hear the type of person he appeals to by the dozen or so meatheads who cheer when he brings up “Jew jokes.”
@CooperB85@dom_lucre He shared it, not committed it. Basically sharing that vile evil as a way to gain popularity through shocking people. He makes up at least half of the stuff he talks about and the other half he presents in ways garnered to get the most clicks. He’s a charlatan at best.
This isn’t about my like or dislike of him. It’s just legitimately about his talent. I looked up more about him to make sure I wasn’t talking out of my ass. He hitched his wagon to Jeff Ross and Joe Rogan. Even following Rogan to Austin. Supposedly he was a good writer. But that doesn’t always translate to the stage. What Kill Tony does for some comics is good. He was doing that when his primary thing was writing.
Regardless, my feelings or disagreements with him don’t matter. There’s people I “like” or agree with on certain matters who I don’t like as a stand up either. There’s people I even disagree with some of their material that I still like (i.e. Chappelle). Some I think are geniuses I won’t listen to anymore (Louis CK). Some who not only toe the line but jump over it that I can appreciate and even find funny (Jeselnik). Comedy comes in all kinds of shapes and flavors and not everything is going to be for everyone. I totally get that. I’ve seen some of his performances and he’s just lacking in the charisma, timing, nuance, etc. that would make him good. It’s probably why he primarily wrote for so long. I wanted to stand up for a long time and maybe one day I’ll take the chance, but despite what I can write it doesn’t mean I’ll be good at it. 🤷 I just think he’s not good, and it’s not just whether or not I like the way he leans.
Sorry for the long message. Figured I’d explain myself a bit better.
As someone who works with transgenic mouse models for cancer research, this is objectively one of the funniest things I’ve seen a real life politician post
It’s pretty clear he has connections. But I don’t think those things you listed indicate talent. That’s like saying every musical artist who’s ever been popular has to be super talented. People are lemmings. Sometimes people get popular because they’re told to like it. This feels more like that, imo. If I had to guess, networking (to put it broadly) is his biggest skill.
@Skeptile_ The people he surrounds himself with are leagues funnier than he is. And they make “Kill Tony” what it is. Edginess for the sake of edginess is the lowest form of comedy. I’ve always felt that way. There’s an art to it and he’s more of a finger painter.
Since plenty of people who are against it don’t even know what it is, educate yourself. And don’t be like Charlie, especially if you lean so heavily on being a “Christian.”
Happy Juneteenth.
Benny always tries to act tough, but it’s particularly pathetic and funny in this case because he was paid by one of Iran’s closest allies (Russia) to spread disinformation leading up to and during the 2024 presidential campaign. Nothing he says is honest. Ever.
My message to all the political ‘influencers’ attacking President Trump over the Iran Peace Deal:
We see you. We know what’s actually happening here…
These last 3 months have exposed how much foreign influence there in our politics. Bloodthirsty calls for forever war, hell bent for boots on the ground conflict. Why? Certainly not for the benefit of America.
Here’s who benefits:
- Foreign nations
- Defense contractors
- Neocon lobby
Donald Trump just delivered peace in our time. MAGA is thrilled.
This Iran deal, signed DAYS ahead of schedule, is stabilizing to the global economy, securing regional partners and will ensure Iran NEVER gets a nuclear weapon. That is America First.
If you love a foreign nation more than America, perhaps it’s time you do us all a favor and move there for good! Fight your own wars. We’re done.
So many people have exposed themselves these past few months. It’s been humiliating.
Let me say this on behalf of the actual AMERICA FIRST Movement: thank you, Donald Trump for peace.
He has personally tried to take all attention away from it as he dragged his feet on even releasing parts of it. Then dumped heavily redacted files, had people in his administration lying about their involvement (Lutnick), and the DOJ and FBI contradicted themselves on all of it.
This is just wildly inaccurate. He didn’t report him to the police, he called the police after he was being investigated. He didn’t kick him out for being a creep, by his own admission he kicked him out because Epstein was stealing employees. He said it from the Oval Office.
VANCE: “The Epstein Files Transparency Act, the one that president signed, the one that led to all these files that we’re seeing, the emails...”
“By the way Joy, again, I do have to defend my boss.”
“I know you guys don’t always appreciate this.”
“One of the things you see in the Epstein emails is that Jeffrey Epstein hated Donald Trump and that Donald Trump literally reported Jeffrey Epstein to the police.”
“That’s one of the things that came out of the files.”
NAVARRO: “They were best friends for about a decade...”
VANCE: “Let me respond to that.”
“Number one is, yes, Donald Trump, he’s said this.”
“He knew Jeffrey Epstein back in the 1980s, he also threw Epstein out of his club when he found out he was a creep and reported him to the police.”
“That’s something the media misses when it reports the story.”
“They tell the fact they knew each other in 80s, which the president himself admits. They ignore the fact that he narced on him to police and led ultimately to Jeffrey Epstein’s downfall.”
@bennyjohnson This actually goes against Trump’s version of the story that he told in the Oval Office. But sure, it’s the media that’s spinning it wrong. That makes sense.
