Just put my entire trading portfolio into $STRC at $93.
Locked in a 12.3% effective yield and will enjoy the ~7.5% capital gain when it trades back to par within the next 60 days.
Crazy that the market is offering this to us again.
Bitcoin will be fine. Strategy will be fine.
@DarioCpx What's the math here though? Can't they still draw inventories for another 6-9 months before they (SPR/commercial) reach operational minimums?
@johannesmkx@johannesmkx moreover, Strategy clearly communicates their objectives and KPIs and its to increase Bitcoin per share. There is no word about USD gains - nobody cares about this here. Unless, some investors never read communications/listened to inv call.
The mistake here is assumption that Strategy wants to sell their Bitcoin for USD profit.
Whoever understands money, understands that the goal:
To accumulate as much Bitcoin as possible before we transition from Fiat standard to Bitcoin standard.
Holy crap that Bitcoin just crashed hard. Down to $66,000.
Apparently Strategy had to start selling Bitcoin to pay out dividends. They're massively under water and I expect that company to go bankrupt like we've never seen before. Strategy, in my view, will never be able to sell their Bitcoin at over the price the paid for. It would crash today's market.
I used to work in the crypto industry during 2013-2015, and I still think Tether could potentially be printing fake crypto dollars to buy real Bitcoin, but we'll still need evidence.
And MtGox is preparing to finally pay out, but imagine Bitcoin crashing before people get paid.
@johannesmkx Why anyone who wants USD, would choose MSTR over IBIT?
It’s irrational to take all the operational risk for zero extra return (you can lever up IBIT or increase position if need more risk)
I think Hawaiian nailed it here.
Bitcoin WILL go to infinity.
And it's not some magic trick - it's arithmetic.
We measure Bitcoin in US dollar, which slowly but steadily is going to zero.
(M2 supply expanded virtually every year during last 100 years).
@BitPaine Extended bear market where they keep issuing preferred and BTC continues dropping. Eventually they have to sell BTC to fund the dividends.
Hence the “BTC years of coverage”
Plan A is BTC goes to infinity and it doesn’t matter
Plan B is the company goes to 0
No plan C
I wish this was only a joke. EU is full of subsidies for such businesses and worse.
You’re often not competitive if you don’t participate in this degeneracy.
@willo2_Poly Criminal. Such a pity - they created a great product, but what’s the point if insiders can always change rules as they like? It’s legacy finance once again.
@Horn_Esquire@KobeissiLetter Makes sense , $300b in reparations is way more than I thought they would accept tho! I still think, they will just release the frozen assets , let’s see.
@Biotchinvestor@zerohedge First usually volume go down because there is noone to buy at those prices - then there is a correction. Just in time for SPR depletion & energy crisis as well as AI bubble deflation.
