PepsiCo, the parent company of Doritos, lost over $1 billion after raising the price of a bag of Doritos to $6-$7. People stopped buying them. They later lowered the price to recover some of the lost revenue, but sales are still down.
I love that for them.
People didn’t stop going to theatres because of Netflix, Disney+, or Prime Video. They stopped when snacks started costing as much as the movie ticket.
Zendaya one of the few who actually create meaningful looks around archive pieces. It means something vs. a lot of the people are doing it for the status / lucrativeness associated with wearing archive pieces.
