On Sunday, Groton police responded to a man on the Gold Star Bridge on I-95 who was threatening to jump.
Bodycam shows Officer Matthew Albee, a former Eastern Connecticut State University baseball player, calmly talking the man down.
The man eventually stated he just needed a hug: “Just hug me, man. I just need a hug.”
“I got you, brother. I’m not going anywhere,” Albee said.
The man was safely taken for a mental health evaluation.
