Better health coverage?
If Canadians became U.S. citizens they would lose their free health care, pay nearly three times more for their prescription drugs, and many of them wouldn’t be able to get coverage at all.
Something tells me they won’t be interested.
The premier (and her favourite columnists) love framing this as Smith vs. Trudeau. But all the other premiers, incl. conservatives, signed onto “Team Canada.” Agree with her or not, the fact is she chose to stand alone. #ableg#cdnpoli
I mapped out this poll, and it shows that every single riding in Canada opposes joining the United States. Even the most supportive riding has only about 25% in favor.
@AndrewKnack Thanks for the opportunity. My neighbour and I were wondering when the decision to blade this week was made? We don't have all the inside info & may be missing several things, but found spending $ to blade the week we have above zero temps and much snow melt occuring to be odd.
There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States.
Workers and communities in both our countries benefit from being each other’s biggest trading and security partner.
We have a bunch of unincorporated territories we could package together for Greenland, but doubt Denmark is interested in the Caribbean or South Pacific. Feels like we need a 3-country trade? France is always into weird shit like that, the UK too.
