There is a lot to notice here, but some quick thoughts:
a) There are 8, 11, 2, 4 projects with 1, 2, 3, 4 PIs
b) Out of 22 projects, 11 include a Black PI, 9 include a Black woman PI.
c) Out of 11 projects that include a Black PI, 4 are led by a Black PI. All 4 are led by women
Over the next few weeks, we will be having a look at investigators who were awarded the NIH Grant for the NIH funding opportunity titled "Understanding and Addressing the Impact of Structural Racism and Discrimination on Minority Health and Health Disparities".
d) Of 11 projects with 2 PIs, in 4 the PIs did not share any collaborators.
e) Of 4 projects where the PIs do not share collaborators, 3 had one Black investigator. In each case the Black investigator was not the lead investigator.

Three examples of White (looking) scholars whose work does not primarily deal with racism partnering with Black scholars whose work does. In two of these, white scholars have a lot more work with each other than with the black team member. In all, white scholars are the lead PI.
