The sun is shining and we wrapped up recording yesterday in #missoula. I think we’re taking a break for the Easter holiday to recoup and #reconnoiter Last weekend we were in #butteamerica, listening to stories and enjoying the uniqueness that place offers.

We are finally getting started again with interviews this spring collecting oral histories for the Little Shell. Here are some behind the scenes shots from some of the first ones we did in Great Falls last fall.
@ThatLakotaGuy The Cree and Ojibwe we put on display to perform. The revenue was used to pay back the supplies the original Wild West Show owed to a local store and to get them back to Montana.
@ThatLakotaGuy They had a group of Cree and Ojibwe before this. The group, including Little Bear, Natoos, and Kennewash, were abandoned after they refused to travel to Europe with the Beverage Wild West Show. They put them in the zoo because they had bison. They made their way back to Montana.

I joined Little Shell Tribe leaders today to discuss the Census. After becoming federally recognized, the Tribe is eligible to be accurately counted for the first time ever and have access to federal dollars for education, health care, and community planning.
