🔭 Our space telescopes are used to looking out at the cosmos, but if you’re ready to turn your gaze inside, they’ve got you covered there, too. With just five questions, find out whether Hubble, Webb, or Roman shares your vibe.
NPR's Science of Siblings Series includes a fun interview and a comic about Solar Siblings (https://t.co/90aKOQuYjY). Was fun to catch up with Dr. Natalie Price-Jones and be made into a comic character.
My kid recently came up to me and randomly said there are actually 46 ways to form a globular cluster. He did not show his work or cite any sources, but the number 46 will now haunt me the rest of my career.
Great figure from Grondin et al. (https://t.co/JoRQauIiMx) showing where extra tidal stars produced via three-body interactions in the cores of Galactic globular clusters could be found throughout the Milky Way. Some contaminate their tidal tails! What do you think @PlotAstro ?
Turns out it is not possible to get through a class on Rocks, Fossils, and Life Beyond Earth without referencing @TheRock 7 times. I should have just asked him to guest lecture.
Tomorrow, July 31st, we will be having our online public viewing (OPV), happening at 9:00pm and featuring live audio from @YorkUniverse 💫✨🔭

If you or a friend are looking to get started with star cluster simulations, definitly check it out. I've also used it to analyze simulated stellar streams, dark matter subhalos, and Gaia data. Happy to add more features on request.
I forced myself to learn python about 5 years ago by converting all my FORTRAN code into a python package. That was the first step towards clusterools, which I can proudly say was accepted by JOSS last week and is on the arxiv today (https://t.co/YLRxRtsZJm)
My kid tells me that old people (me) have bad ideas because their brains are tired from being used for so long. Young people (my kid) have great ideas because their brains are young and fresh. Could this extend beyond the complexities of bath time?
While teaching Life on Other Worlds, I was fairly confident I would accidentally quote Jurrasic Park. Turns out I should have been worried about accidentally quoting Wrath of Kahn. Realized mid-sentence.
