Eugenio Chacarra was criticized for leaving his U.S. Open final qualifier last month in Dallas before he had a chance to earn an alternate spot via a playoff.

The reason was Chacarra wanted to get back to Europe in time to play the DP World Tour's Soudal Open in Belgium. He finished T-22 there, then T-12 the next week in Turkey.

Today, he won the KLM Open to move to 6th in the Race to Dubai.

I think the decision paid off...
