@SLSignal @BTCNewsGlobal We have no idea about that either. When Bitcoin became extremely popular in Germany around 2019/2020, many people didn't even know it existed or how it worked.
There was a proposal from one party that wanted all transactions to be identifiable by "first and last name."
@SLSignal @BTCNewsGlobal I didn't know that either until I did my tax return. Even if you can prove that it's your wallet, every wallet counts separately (which is completely ridiculous in my opinion).
@SLSignal @BTCNewsGlobal The problem is that we have to provide proof of everything. When we send BTC from our own wallet to another, we cannot prove when we purchased the BTC in the "sender wallet," so taxes are incurred.
It's not as simple as it might sound at first glance.
@SLSignal @BTCNewsGlobal Not quite true!
We can buy #BTC without paying tax, but we do have to bear something in mind when selling.
If we sell within a year, we have to pay tax on it (exemption limit €1,000); anything above that must be taxed. (1/2)
⛏️ WHY #BITCOIN? ⛏️
Here’s why we still choose $BTC 👇
🔸 Proposed tax breaks for small Bitcoin payments.
A proposed U.S. de minimis rule would exempt crypto transactions under $300 from capital gains taxes, with a $5,000 annual cap. Lawmakers say the change could make using Bitcoin for small purchases far more practical.
🔸 Institutional infrastructure keeps expanding.
Morgan Stanley’s proposed Bitcoin Trust will rely on Coinbase Custody and BNY Mellon to safeguard BTC, holding the asset directly rather than using derivatives — another step in institutional integration.
🔸 Bitcoin’s risk profile is maturing.
Analysis referenced in Bitwise’s 2026 forecast highlights Bitcoin’s realized volatility falling below NVIDIA stock, with multi-year lows near 27%. Combined with $191B in ETF assets, this reflects Bitcoin’s shift toward institutional-grade markets.
Different systems are reaching the same conclusion.
From taxes to Wall Street institutions and market data, signals are converging around Bitcoin’s role as a long-term pillar of finance.
