Mark Tindle: Curator

A museums geek, now living in London. I'm all about museums and the arts. The Curator's Egg: parts of it are excellent. All tweets are my own.

Renaissance Wax just got mentioned on CSI Miami.
This is either the greatest thing to happen or the worst. I really can't decide...

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

Turner's greatest painting create a reality more real than the true one.

I would truly love to do arts conservation. If I had the talent. And the scientific knowlege. And the patience...

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

Painting conservation & restoration is perhaps the thing I'm most impressed by in fine art. Artistic gifts, science & patience combined.

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

I certainly assumed it was...!

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

The lights aren't working in @tate Britain's Henry Moore Gallery. I wonder how many people think it's a curatorial choice...?

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

It's a great mass of consumptive red heads.
This can only be the work of the Pre-Rahaelite Brotherhood... *gentle shudder*

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

@MarDixon @vickybarlo I've not paid it, so, alas, I shall never know! Unless I come with work. Which might be an option now!

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

@MarDixon Yeah... It looked interesting, but not £14 intresting!

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

@vickybarlo Just feels too much. To me at least! A tenner would've probably been acceptable.

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

@vickybarlo I think just one visit, unless you Gift Aid-ed it, then it was a year pass. But this is not somewhere to reglarly visit (IMHO).

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

@MarDixon Oh I couldn't! Solidarity and all... ;-) Suffice to say, it's in Gosport; which should be a fair clue...

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

I don't object to museum's charging, but expecting you to fork over that is thoroughly taking the mick.

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

Not naming names, but charging £14 for museum admission is a complete rip-off.

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

I'm delighted to say that the interpretation at @Fort_Nelson includes 'The German Guns' by Pte S Baldrick. #truepoet

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

Just thought of a new exhibition title I must make sure to use: 'Proto-Roman Knick-Knacks: A Englishman's Mediterranean Collection'.

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

1st impression of the galleries tho'? Very good. Nice range of objects, interesting displays & evocative. Concept-heavy, but in a good way.

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

Oh no... The new IWM WWI galleries' text boards are in Ekarv. I'm sorry, but I just loathe Ekarv-style text. It's not logical or accessible.

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

@fatbadger442 I'm just getting into the meat of the galleries now. 1st thought is that it all looks a bit...sparse.

[Mark Tindle: Curator @TheCuratorsEgg]

But that's just the atrium. I know it'll be different throughout. I'm very excited to see what the new galleries are going to look like.
