To be brutally honest, Arijit's version was a headache. The first time I ever heard his version of Ami Je Tomar, I was certain about not listening to it ever again. He sang it well at Ambani's wedding.
Sonu Nigam's version is incomparable. I have heard it in the theatre today.

The only people criticising Sonu Nigams version of Ami je Tomar belong to the Arijit fandom. And weirdly Ami je Tomar doesn’t even belong to Arijit. It’s an original Shreya Ghoshal song…and it will forever remain - how any ever versions come off it.
