May 11, 2014 — Mother’s Day.

Just days after losing his mom, Marty St. Louis scored and poured his heart onto the ice in one of the most emotional moments of that Stanley Cup run for the New York Rangers. Hockey felt bigger than the game that night.

I was there with my dad. My mom had passed too, and he took me to this game. It was incredibly emotional, and even now, I can still feel the emotion from this goal every time I watch it.
