Tanzania has nearly the same amount of resource endowment as DR Congo.
The reason people don't know this is that unlike DR Congo, Tanzania has always had a functioning government that has been able to keep the resources in the ground instead of letting the country become Kivu.
Tanzanians themselves know very little about their own country, which is why you'll see some corn-fed idiot from Kariakoo who has never travelled beyond a 400km radius in his life telling you that his primary problem in life is that he doesn't have "Democracy."
People that are living inside an African ring of fire and still don't know where their problem is coming from or who their enemy is...
Sgt. (Retired) Peter Gisagara was shot and lost his leg on 14 October 1990 at Gabiro, just two weeks after the launch of the @rpfinkotanyi liberation struggle.
Thirty-six years later, for the first time , he has returned to Gabiro Barracks, where he left his leg, and he is more than happy to see that his sacrifice bore the fruits of liberation.
He is taking part in a two-day trip organized by RDRC (@demobrwanda )visiting the Liberation Trail together with about 60 other survivors and casualties of the Liberation War and the campaign to stop the Genocide against the Tutsi.
What can we do to ensure health supplies reach the people who need them?
Join @UNFPA and partners for a discussion on how to close this gap at the World Health Assembly.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I am 28. I currently work as a security guard in Qatar. Every morning I put on my uniform and think about the version of me that graduated thinking the world was waiting. Nobody tells you that sometimes the world is not waiting. You just have to keep showing up anyway.

Children should carry books, not echoes of war.
When play mirrors violence, it tells us the environment must change. Our duty is to protect childhood and build a future where the only fight is for education, opportunity, and peace.
