Due to extreme cold, the Gloria Center at 2505 West 7th St. in The Dalles is opening for emergency shelter and warming services 1-23-26 at 1pm. It will remain open until 10am Monday 1-26-26, and then reassess the need and conditions. TDPD is available to conduct welfare checks.

CRITICAL INCIDENT: The Sheriff's Office is on the scene of an officer-involved shooting near SE Johnson Creek Blvd & SE Bell Ave. Two deputies were shot and two suspects are in custody. There is no danger to the public. Please avoid the area. More info to come.

Officer Reams saved a swimmer whose foot was stuck in the rocks. She was trapped in the cold, fast river for about 30 minutes when she called for help on her Apple watch. Cold, tired but unharmed.

6-7-22 Officers cited an individual who shot multiple air soft type rounds at The Dalles Middle School students. Several were struck. There were no injuries. No school lock down was necessary in this incident.
