MLW World Heavyweight Champion Killer Kross addressed the crowd during tonight’s MLW Fusion:

“A lot of people in this position would come out here and talk a lot about themselves, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But I want to take a little bit of a different approach. This is a special occasion. I want to talk about this company, and I want to talk a little bit about some of you here, if you don’t mind.

Sometimes in life, people feel like the world just starts moving on without them. You put everything into something, someplace, somebody, and then all of a sudden they switch up on you, and you feel like you’ve got absolutely nothing left. But I’m here to tell you today, I’m living proof: that’s just a feeling, it’s not the case. Do not ever give up on yourself. It’s tough love, I’m telling you. It’s life. It happens. Life goes on, and we’re here.

And I want to tell everybody, it’s not lost upon me that there are people in this audience tonight, and there are people in audiences all over the world, who sometimes barely have enough money to get wrestling tickets to come to these shows. But they find a way, and they show up.

Sometimes they’re leaving early from work, sometimes they’re driving many hours to get here, sometimes they take flights. The bottom line is they make sacrifices, and we respect that, we understand that. They make sacrifices to show up and feel that special, unique moment with their friends and their family that they’re going to remember for the rest of their lives. And I’m telling you, we’re here to give it to you.

Every single person backstage right now is ready to come out here and compete against each other to connect with you. It’s not about social trends, it’s not about stockholders, it’s not about viral moments, it’s not about any of that. It’s not about tribalism, it’s not about throwing shade. What it’s about at its core is professional wrestling.

I know there are a lot of people here for the first show they’ve ever been to in their entire lives. I met them at the beginning of the show, it’s their first MLW show. Some of you online are watching for the first time. Allow me to tell you: welcome to the new beginning.”
