As it might be the last Tweet for a while, I'll sign off to go and watch 'V' (annual ritual like Elf on 01st Dec) & turn it up to drown out the whizzbangs for the dog.
But I'll go with the only pic I have of the dog looking grumpy.
#ByeTwitter
@Olliek74 Well...it's charity investors, not public bodies. It's a long term fiduciary investment decision, not a boycott. And it's for a type of company, not related to any country's conduct. So I think there's three reasons why it would be allowed under this https://t.co/1CP2dux1fc
@DanNeidle Would that be this one - https://t.co/XC20PC2rL2 - where Col Hamilton 'misspoke'? i.e. either he spinning a dit ...or was saying something he shouldn't have and had to backtrack on it!
I've seen a lot of people asking "why does everyone think Twitter is doomed?"
As an SRE and sysadmin with 10+ years of industry experience, I wanted to write up a few scenarios that are real threats to the integrity of the bird site over the coming weeks.
Trying to avoid ๐ฆing but I can't get the thought out of my head that #Passengers is the perfect film for @elonmusk's Twitter at the moment. Feel free to add GIFs...but I'll start, because I need some light relief on Friday afternoon...
1st up - the ship in deadly space
Thankfully I don't have too many followers, so I've just screen shot them all. Thoughts with all those who genuinely rely on Twitter, especially outside EU,USA etc.
@AdamWagner1@penguinfamy@AdamWagner1 if you're interested there is a new Mastadon business and human rights server hosted by @NadiaBernaz called https://t.co/hjxM3vIQEL
So, it's not goodbye...but it's definitely an invitation to consider whether you give your eyeballs, personal data, advertising revenue & implicit approval to Elon Musk; a man who wants to save humanity but doesn't seem to give a shit about actual humans.
Twitter has been addictive & rewarding by holding a blurry space for almost all my interests (#bizhumanrights dogs politics intlaffairs et al), keeping me up to date & giving a snark-outlet. Sad to see it self immolating. It may recover, sometime down the line, but at rhe moment-
The Musk-Effect (very different to the Lynx-Effect) might push governments to take an even harder look at tech companies & have trickle down positive impact for the management of rest of the sector. But sadly for that to happen will require some pretty bad news elsewhere...
