Hoy se hace efectivo el retiro de la Argentina de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), al cumplirse un año de la notificación formal realizada por nuestro país.

La Argentina comunicó esta decisión mediante una nota dirigida al Secretario General de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas, en su carácter de depositario de la Constitución de la OMS, el 17 de marzo de 2025. De conformidad con lo establecido en la Convención de Viena sobre el Derecho de los Tratados, el retiro se produce un año después de realizada esa notificación.

Nuestro país continuará promoviendo la cooperación internacional en salud a través de acuerdos bilaterales y ámbitos regionales, resguardando plenamente su soberanía y su capacidad de decisión en materia de políticas sanitarias.

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
