I think this situation highlights something bigger than just “AI good vs AI bad.”

It’s about TRUST.

When creators—especially VTubers—are asked to be part of a project, they’re putting their name, brand, and community on the line. If the only way to get them on board is to hide or deny AI usage, that’s NOT a small detail. That’s boundaries being disrespected.

And that’s where these companies get it wrong.

If you’re not transparent about something that people clearly care about, it doesn’t just cause backlash; it can cost you real money:

🔸️pulled sponsorships
🔸️creators backing out
🔸️community distrust
🔸️long-term brand damage

We’re talking THOUSANDS (sometimes more) in lost revenue over something that could’ve been handled with honesty upfront.

And if AI is being used as a placeholder? Then the product simply isn’t ready. Releasing it anyway and hoping no one notices is a short-term move with long-term consequences.

People aren’t just reacting just because “AI exists”—they’re reacting because they feel misled.

At the end of the day, creators and audiences don’t expect perfection… but they DO expect transparency.

And the longer there’s no clear statement from the company, the worse it looks.
