@philosophymeme0 I’d rather read Kant, Hegel, Heidegger, Whitehead, CS Peirce, Butler, and any other thinker who’s ‘difficult to read,’ than any writing Pinker’s ever produced for a general audience.
@PAHoyeck@moonbeeaam@AlbnorSejdiu It depends on how you understand both claims. Most criticisms in PI are self-criticisms. Wittgenstein disparages 'metaphysics' while indicating alternatives. Contrasting 'philosophy,' as it is practiced by others, with 'philosophy,' as he seeks to practice it, is the work of PI.
@BibleInContext1 This is not an intelligent take. It sounds like another poorly catechized Catholic turned his back on what he mistakenly took the Church to teach. Foolishness.
@PAHoyeck@shitposteriori That’s disappointing. Cavell remains supreme among interpreters. Not as enthusiastic about some of the other New Wittgensteinians. But Cavell, Later Baker, Ilham Dilman and Peter Winch stand out in my memory.
Overcoming Metaphysics
For @CornelWest, it's necessary to break from the cycle of metaphysics to truly live. Concrete reality is not clean or simply observable. Significant parts of life are unclear and indistinct. Paradox must be embraced. https://t.co/C4OHYkTCKm via @YouTube
@KyleKulinski It’s surprising that @KyleKulinski still holds strongly to his naive new atheist beliefs. Kyle discusses religion and religious belief like a teenager.
@Azulay_the_gay@briebriejoy So your argument is that Israel should eliminate all Palestinian people because Israel is LGBTQ friendly? That’s a ridiculous justification of genocide. I am not surprised that I have never heard this argument before.
Did you know that Pope Constantine the Great launched the first crusade in 65,000,000 BC against the dinosaurs because they rebelled against the Catholic Church and destroyed their capital of Atlantis.
This is where the doctrine of papal supremacy comes from.
