“I am starting a new company,” Sutskever wrote on X on Wednesday. “We will pursue safe superintelligence in a straight shot, with one focus, one goal, and one product.” https://t.co/5zO1oCxwNK
Our hearts are heavy with the recent airstrikes on Rafah. We continue to stand in solidarity with Palestine and call for an immediate end to the atrocities being levied upon them by the Israeli occupation.
✊🏼✊🏽✊🏿Free Palestine!
This article offers a salient point: whatever regulation and policies we're able to put in place to limit or reduce AI copyright or IP rights infringement needs to be written to protect individuals, rather than corporations as priority.

Just a reminder: Black faculty can participate and uphold white supremacy in academia in pursuit of their goals. Let’s not forget what ACTUALLY happened in 2020 with this.
Medical racism and ableism happen when it’s been three years, and no disciplinary action has been taken against New York-based anesthesiologist Dr. Evan Matthew Rodriguez despite publicly writing:
-I, as a heart transplant patient, took a heart from someone else and still think society owes me something.
-He’s a hard worker who prays he never has to support a “mooch” like me with his tax money.
-He called me “sista” and thinks helping build a clinic in Africa through @Engeye and Healing Hands Abroad means he’s not racist.
-My transplanted kidney didn't come from Black Friday sales.
-The @nytimes declined to publish my op-ed about physicians who are casually racist on social media. #DisabilityTwitter #BlackTwitter
A teacher in South Carolina was reported by her students for teaching Ta-Nehisi Coates’s “Between the World and Me.”
The students explained that the book made them ashamed to be White, violating a clause forbidding teachers from making students “feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress” on race

"According to sources within the Union home ministry, incidents of biometric data theft leading to such fraud have seen a significant increase in six states and one centrally administered region."
"Most PCs are just cool prisons that track your every movement and harvest your biometric data so advertisers can eventually unburden you from your money."
This is wild 😆
I keep thinking about that HBR Pet to Threat article.
It’s time we run that back, and talk about what it means to be recruited and coveted for your skills and relational capital..
Only to be undervalued, underappreciated, or targeted because of it later.
What century are we in and what gives grown adults the idea that is appropriate for a child! But of course, so many educators do not see Black kids as they do white kids.
Its heartbreaking how they do not see the humanity in Black babies.
