Apple is good at controlling secrets, but the Chinese supply chain is awash in leaks and corruption. So Chinese brand Xiaomi learns what Apple is working on and rushes out an inferior knockoff prior to Apple’s public unveiling. And it just is what it is. Apple would love to stop it, but they can’t.
