Week 7
By this time I had learnt all of my solo material. (Original Song, Humongous and That’s all how it feels). I showed K and he suggested I cut That’s all how it feels so I did.
Week 6
We faced the problem of having too many songs to learn in the amount of time we had left so we cut the following songs
Up in the Sky (which was going to replace Pour Sugar On Me)
Glass House
Iron Sky
Last night I watched my old college teacher perform at an open mic event to observe techniques he used, and how he engaged with audience. A thing he did well was storytelling. This was effective as he was able to retain the audience attention while preparing for his next song
the one thing i will be paying the most attention to is the “don’t let there be awkward silences” tip. I’ll relate this to my performance next week between my songs “The Big Bang” and “Coming Back for More” while Chris and Matthew switch over on the bass
Today, I have conducted some secondary research. I have looked on YouTube for some tips on how to belt and sing with distortion. This is the video I found; it looks helpful but I'm yet to try the technique. #TheDubs🤟
Coming Back For More: We've finally got Hugo rehearsing with us - a great boost. Comfortable with the song now. The Big Bang and Coming Back for More are done. Now just gotta do Way Down We Go and Up in the Sky with the band. #TheDubs🤘
This is the first time I rehearsed Way Down We Go with JK on the drums. For a first time of playing it, he did well, however he was too fast. I have told him this and he said he’ll play slower 👍
