The one thing people are not talking about is the Hard deadline that the ORPP has set for the 15th day of October 2026 as to the submission of the officials of the same political parties and effecting of all necessary changes within the party including rebranding where need be.

What does this mean? Well it means that by the said date, names of the officials of the party should have been submitted, if any rebranding is to be done it should have been done by then and those parties should have 24 offices across the country in different counties with the said offices painted with the official party colors and signages.

We have been told that @_TEP_KE passed a resolution to change the name of the party or rebrand the same to @LindaMwananchi_ Party in recent days.

We have seen across social media videos of The Equitable Party painting their offices with the official colors of the equitable parties and signages installed in those offices.

Today is the 9th day of October 2027 which means that @_TEP_KE has exactly 4 days to decide its party officials, effect the rebranding through the @ORPPKenya with regards as to the name of the party, painted their offices with official Linda Mwananchi Party colors and ensure that the offices are 24 in number.

All I can say is that @edwinsifuna and team will be busy for the next 4 days. Extremely busy.

We in the opposition cannot preach democracy while running a dictatorship in social media.

I haven’t seen DCP or Rigathi Gachagua supporters attack people for tweeting about Sifuna or Kalonzo. I haven’t seen Wiper supporters do the same.

But a clique of Sifuna supporters seems to believe that nobody else in the opposition deserves support or even a positive tweet about them.

Tweet about Kalonzo? Attacks. Mention Matiang’i? Insults. Say Rigathi Gachagua for president? Suddenly, you’re the enemy.

What kind of madness is this?

If you don’t like Matiang’i, let those who support him do so in peace. If you don’t like Kalonzo, the same applies. Your candidate will also have their moment, and some of us will still give them a fair hearing.

You cannot bully people into supporting your candidate. You may end up driving away the very people you need to win.

Some of us stand for a UNITED opposition, not a personal fan club. Opposition leaders should rein in supporters who undermine that unity.

If we are fighting intolerance, why are we reproducing it within the opposition?

BREAKING NEWS: Awillo has realized that banking in Luo Nyanza fully to vote for him in 2027 is difficult. Kenyan politics has a strange habit of repeating itself.

Look closely at the pattern.

Raila Odinga was KANU Secretary-General.

Edwin Sifuna became ODM Secretary-General.

Raila entered a political cooperation arrangement with Daniel arap Moi.

Sifuna entered the Broad-Based Government arrangement with William Ruto.

Then came the inevitable question: succession and political direction.

Raila’s relationship with Moi collapsed when it became clear that Raila’s political ambitions could not fit comfortably inside Moi’s succession plan.

Today, Sifuna finds himself in a remarkably similar political storm.

His relationship with the ODM establishment has fractured over the direction of the political arrangement, and he now finds himself fighting for political space he once occupied from the centre of the party.

History then presents us with the most interesting part.

Raila Odinga walked out.

He found an organised opposition, joined forces with others and eventually rallied behind Emilio Mwai Kibaki with the unforgettable declaration:

“Kibaki Tosha!”

That cry helped reshape Kenya’s political landscape and ultimately contributed to the defeat of KANU in 2002.

Now look at Sifuna.

He finds himself politically displaced at precisely the moment an organised opposition is taking shape, with Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka emerging as one of its principal figures.

So the pattern writes itself:

KANU → Raila → political divorce → organised opposition → Kibaki Tosha.

ODM → Sifuna → political divorce → organised opposition → Kalonzo Tosha?

Sifuna is not Raila.
Ruto is not Moi.
ODM is not KANU.
Kalonzo is not Kibaki.

But Kenyan politics has a wicked sense of déjà vu.

The real question is no longer whether Sifuna has lost his old political space.

The question is what he does after losing it.

Will he repeat Raila’s historic move and recognise where the political tide is flowing?

Will we one day hear:

“Kalonzo Tosha!”

Or will Sifuna make the mistake that history already punished others for making?
