Summer Solstice holds cultural significance for many Indigenous peoples. Nearly 300 @TheDukeofC2013 students received traditional teachings and stories about each season and created beautiful murals with the help of Melody Crowe & artist Koren Smoke from Alderville First Nation.

On Jordan’s Principle Day, we honour the memory of Jordan River Anderson, from Norway House Cree Nation. Jordan’s Principle is a child first principle & legal rule that ensures First Nations children receive health, social & educational services & supports when they need them.

On National Indigenous Languages Day, we recognize and celebrate diverse Indigenous languages and the important role they play in carrying stories and traditions from one generation to the next and embodying Indigenous cultures and histories.
On International Women’s Day we celebrate individuals who identify as women & girls, in all their diversities, for their incredible contributions & achievements! We also raise awareness about discrimination & take action to #EmbraceEquity & create a more inclusive future for all.
