Mamdani says not only will residents not flee — people will want to move to NYC if he wins:
"I'm confident that New Yorkers will choose to not only remain here, but also that others will choose to join us in this city."
@Harri18971@RandomHvacGuy The context of my statement applied to the natural, not the supernatural. Context clues are your friend.
If there is a finite past, then there is a beginning to time. If there is beginning to time, then that's the beginning of space and matter -- a creation if you will. :)
@Harri18971@RandomHvacGuy Nothing is eternal. If there are an infinite amount of yesterdays, there can be no today. To put it succinctly, there is an uncaused cause.
@ExSyde@SerenadingVoid@Fishythefox2 Value is what someone is willing to pay for something vs the next best thing.
If what you said is true, that labor determines value, no business could ever suffer a loss. The fact that businesses do is proof that value is not determined by labor.
@ExSyde@SerenadingVoid@Fishythefox2 It can't since labor is the determining factor and not the consumer. I wasn't referring to "social averages". I'm referring to one person buying a whole pizza vs pizza by the slice. The whole pizza will always be cheaper. Without price, value cannot be calculated.
@ExSyde@SerenadingVoid@Fishythefox2 I'll give you another tidbit labor theory of value fails to account for. Value is determined on the margin, not the total units produced on the product, but rather incrementally unit by unit. It's the reason why buying in bulk is cheaper than buying individual units.
