2 Lessons...
1. If someone (and I mean anyone) shows you who they really are...believe them the 1st time. 2.Who they are doesn't have to change who you are.
How someone treats when they think they don't need you anymore is very telling. And sometimes what it tells you is the most heartbreaking news you'll ever receive. Stay strong. And decide who you want to be going forward.
My best advice to anyone else surrounded by narcissists. #1 Put your financial welfare above their needs. #2 Distance yourself from them as often as you can. #3 Take a trip to a place so beautiful it hits you right in the chest and steals your breath away. Rinse and repeat!
If you tell a narcissist that you have just been to the most beautiful place you've ever seen they will pretend to share in your excitement. Later, they will tell someone else that you've never been anywhere. So they could take you on a trip to an outhouse and you'd love it too.
You have the right to discern the behavior of another person. It's not judging. It's not black and white thinking (labeling someone as all good or all bad). It's the natural evolution of someone who is finally seeing the truth about another person.
@SoulFreeing1111 Part 10 -And laugh when you can. Find things that are so funny they break through the pain and cause even a slight smile to form on your face. And know that it's o.k. too if you can't smile right now. Don't judge yourself for having a perfectly normal reaction to abusive behavior
