Tight slap on the face of Udupi Swaad Restaurant by the Bombay High Court.

Restaurant's license was suspended by the FDA so they went to the High Court for relief.

Judges: You were using banned analogue paneer.

Restaurant: But sir, they suspended our license without issuing any improvement notice.

Judges: You didn't mention on the menu that you were not using real paneer. You are making people eat something rotten by making them believe it is paneer, and you are saying that an improvement notice should have been given to you?

Restaurant: Sorry, sir. We will not use analogue paneer again.

Judges: You need to suffer for some time. You are making people suffer by using analogue paneer without declaring it. Now, you just suffer for some time.

Restaurant: Please sir we have suffered a loss of revenue and reputation.

Judge: So what? Wait for the FDA to file a reply. Next hearing on September 7.

Truly terrible end of a young life :( As per the report/police, the sequence seems to be: Pedestrian suddenly enters roadway → Guru's car brakes suddenly → scooter brakes suddenly → scooter loses traction because of muddy/damaged road → pillion rider falls → oncoming mini-goods vehicle runs over her. Would this chain have resulted in a fatality if the road had been properly maintained? Would Guru have been able to stop safely if he had maintained an appropriate speed and following distance?

He is Dr Nagendra from Bengaluru, Karnataka.

He reported the presence of two alleged illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in the city.

What happened then? Two criminal cases were registered against Dr Nagendra, and he was arrested.

Now, the Karnataka High Court has rebuked the Bengaluru Police over filing two criminal cases against him. During the hearing, the court reportedly remarked that the police should not indulge in "appeasement" while dealing with complaints of illegal immigration and must instead act strictly in accordance with the law.

The court also questioned why criminal cases were registered against the complainant instead of first verifying his allegations. It stayed further proceedings against Dr. Nagendra until the next hearing.

Well, if an Indian citizen who reports illegal immigrants is arrested, then who will come forward to report such cases in the future? Which citizen will be willing to stay vigilant and take that risk if they themselves could end up being arrested for reporting it?
