@suchnerve On a tangent re: affordability, one of my most radicalising moments was leaving that (in 2012 dollars lmao) it cost ~40k to have a hospital birth before insurance. Made me resolve to not start serious family planning until after I'd gotten out (we see how well this has gone lol).
