Why are you talking from both sides of your mouth? Was Buhari a PDP member?
BAT removed petrol subsidy & gave it to Governors, who are serial looters with immunity & local govt execs, who are also under d control of d Govs? He is truly a wise man who cares about Nigerians. Psew
Buhari subsidized everything for you people and practically mortgaged the future of the country just to keep things artificially cheap today.
Petrol subsidy alone cost Nigeria over ₦8.6 trillion between 2019 and 2022. By the end of 2022, CBN Ways and Means had also risen to about 11.6% of GDP.
Borrowing. Printing/monetizing money. Using future oil revenues to back loans. Subsidizing petrol.
All so Nigerians wouldn’t “suffer.”
And you people still called him wicked.
Then Tinubu came into power and met an economy already hanging by a thread.
He removed the subsidy, reformed the FX market and started trying to clean up the mess.
Of course Nigerians suffered. How could they not? You cannot spend years digging a hole and expect the person filling it to do so without anybody getting dirty.
But suddenly, after almost four years of trying to stabilize the economy, Atiku comes and says “I will bring back subsidy.”
And Nigerians suddenly develop collective amnesia.
This is the part I don’t understand.
If you want to go back to eating our future today, by all means, vote for Atiku Abubakar.
Go back to subsidizing petrol with money we don’t have, borrowing to fund consumption and pretending everything is fine because fuel is artificially cheap.
And by the time the whole thing collapses again, we will be paying ₦5,000 for a litre of fuel and still be looking for the fuel to buy.
There is no magic here.
Someone eventually had to have the balls to tell Nigerians that this thing was broken and could not continue.
Tinubu chose to do it.
Do I think the government should be doing much more to make the transition less painful for Nigerians? Absolutely.
Do I think people are justified in being angry about the cost of living? Of course.
But there is a difference between criticizing the way reforms are being implemented and pretending the reforms themselves were unnecessary.
Nigeria cannot continue borrowing from tomorrow to subsidize today.
At some point, somebody has to fix the damn thing.
And unfortunately, fixing it means Nigerians will feel the pain.
I’d rather we endure the pain of restructuring the economy now than keep kicking the can down the road until there is nothing left to kick.
@Tolu_7085 Be scared for your life bro!
The way Tinubu is running Nigeria, you may not live to see 2027 oo. But I pray you live to see a new Nigeria under a competent leader.
🇬🇭 🇳🇬“When I came to Ghana, I realised that you can actually study and pass an exam. In Nigeria, nobody studies; we put textbooks on our laps and write exams in the examination hall.”
— A Nigerian based in Ghana shares his experience, claiming that both Nigerians and Ghanaians engage in examination malpractice, but Nigerians are worse.
Crazy stuff in Morocco.
Govt removed fuel & currency subsidies, yet economic is crashing.
Now, they want to remove electricity subsidy.
Moroccans are fleeing to Spain.
72 people died.
Their economic reform is poor.
Not everyone can do a successful reforms like BAT is doing.
BREAKING: The FG has suspended the planned increase in WAEC and NECO registration fees for 2027.
This means the new fees will not take effect for now. The government says it will first discuss with schools, parents, and other stakeholders before making a final decision.
The joke is on you. We need a President who is compassionate, corruption free and puts the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians first. Tell me if he ticks any of these boxes?
Nigeria Doesn't Need a Nice President It Needs a Ruthless One
Here's what I've noticed: every single time Tinubu pushes a real reform, someone in the National Assembly is calling for a postponement. Subsidy removal? Postpone it. Tax reform? Postpone it. Anything that actually fixes something long-lterm? Suddenly na let's go slow, let's consult more. This is why Nigeria stays stuck we keep electing leaders who bend to pressure instead of pushing through.
What we need isn't a president everybody likes. We need one ruthless enough to force through reforms that hurt now but save us later, regardless of who's uncomfortable . Comfort didn't build any nation. Discipline did. 🤷🏾♂️
Seriously? It seems you are living under the rock & you don’t understand the economics of living an average life while positioning the economy for growth! Let him try it. Fuel subsidy removal is already a failure cos he robbed Nigerians to pay governors who are serial looters…
The first thing President Tinubu should do after winning the 2027 election is remove electricity subsidy.
Yes I said it.
We already went through the pain of fuel subsidy removal. We survived it. And the economy is responding.
Electricity subsidy is the same problem with a different name.
Nigerians are paying below cost for electricity that barely comes.
The DisCos are underfunded. The GenCos are owed billions. Transmission infrastructure is collapsing. And investors look at Nigeria's power sector and walk away.
Because you cannot build a viable business around a subsidised product that is also unreliable.
Remove the subsidy.
Let electricity price reflect reality.
Then use the savings to fix transmission infrastructure. Build new generation capacity. Create a competitive market that attracts serious investors.
Yes it will be painful.
Everything worth fixing in this country has been painful.
But right now Nigeria is paying for darkness.
Literally subsidising the absence of light.
That makes no sense.
The same boldness that ended fuel subsidy needs to come to electricity.
Investors don't ask, How cheap is your electricity?
They ask, Can I keep my factory running?
Reliable power attracts investment. Cheap but unreliable power drives businesses to diesel generators instead.
It is easy to approve projects. Who is the contractor handling the projects? Did the project allocation followed procurement process? When will the funds be released because contractors are tired of lamenting. Finally, what is the update on the Oyo kidnapped victims?
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved road projects worth 902.5 billion across the five geopolitical regions of Oyo State.
But that's not even the real gist.
Out of the 3.9 trillion approved for road infrastructure nationwide, Oyo State alone secured 902.5 billion, almost a quarter of the total allocation.
Lessons.
Stop this rubbish.
Have the state governors ever being accountable for their previous allocations including security votes & other funds under their purview? Yet, you want me to understand why a president will give them more money to spend. How do you give a cat fish to keep?
@Pathfinder077 stop defending the president we not a baby anymore all this write up is wasting of time once the head is corrupt the body is corrupt tinubu remain the worst president in history of Nigeria
Stop this. You can see the way they loot, spend saved, & borrowed funds? What about the insensitivity of the political class, the inconsistent policies, the state & impact of macro & microeconomic policies, & their impact on inflation & the cost & standard of living?
@PeterPsquare Yes.. there is no magical way to resolving an economic problem without reforms
And reforms are usually painful at first but beneficial in the end..
If you know this and understand the situation you would also say YES
NELFUND: Keeping students in school.
70k Minimum Wage: Boosting worker income.
Infrastructure: Job creation via the Coastal Highway and construction projects
FX Policy: Ending the "middleman" stabilizing the market.
FDI: Multi-billion dollar investments returning to our economy.
Real growth isn't a magic trick., it’s about fixing the broken systems so the next generation doesn't suffer the same issues. Real growth is not overnight. Subsidy was removed so things would get costlier until the economy stabilized
Things were not cheap back then bcus the economy was great it was bcus of the subsidies that almost led us to bankruptcy.
We’re closing the quarter with the conversation everyone keeps having but few are actually living or experiencing.

Dear my Governor
@jidesanwoolu
Why do Lagos always pander to these people threatening on top of small matter? Why why why?
@SavvyRinu was a ring leader in Endsars that saw Lagos almost 🔥 down, yet, same Rinu was included in endsars panel.
@mrmacaroni put a lot of insult on ur government, at the end of the day, he was one of ur invitees for Lagos marathon race but still snubbed you.
One mumu guy dragged u here whom u blocked and after taking u to court, u AV to invite him to Alausa for what is called peace accord, wc peace?
Now, the lady that dragged ur BRT effort yesterday, we had she was called by commissioner again, maybe to persuade her.
Ur Excellency!! Wetin happen sir?
I was like John the baptist shouting into the wilderness.
They told you it's the rich that will pay tax.
I told you it was smokescreen.
I told you that it will open the door to massive taxes that will disproportionately affect the poor.
Did you listen? No.
Today Taiwo has been promoted and you are now paying taxes for graduation and naming ceremony.
We shall all learn.
The hard way, the only way left.
Egbon. It's OK to maintain your friendships and still remain honest. Bwala embarrassed Nigeria as a whole. His utterances about the President and the APC during the elections were vile, toxic, and uncouth. If he is unable to eat his own reckless words with humility after accepting a role in the admin, do not use plenty grammar to whitewash his character flaws.
That interview serves as a reminder as to why people need to be civil in politics! Don't give an excuse for bad behaviours!
