In 2024, Dianna Russini voted for Eagles OL coach Jeff Stoutland 1st on her Assistant COTY ballot, not Ben Johnson or Liam Coen. Nobody else had Stoutland in the top 3 (He received one fourth place vote).
Russini left Ben Johnson and Liam Coen off her ballot completely (!). Those two would obviously be competing for HC vacancies with Vrabel, and Russini voted while working for Vrabel in an “unofficial advisor” role during his job search (according to NYT).
Ben Johnson had 29 1st place votes and 11 2nd place votes.
The following season, Coen and Ben Johnson were Vrabel’s biggest threat for COTY.
A Russini 2025 ballot with Vrabel in 1st place and Coen and Johnson both off the ballot (again) would be...interesting.
The AP is withholding all ballots from last season and won’t respond to questions about Russini’s ballot this year.
Charles Barkley: "Wemby's in shock right now. It's probably been a long time since he got his ass kicked like this... Wemby's spinning... He's 22. He's gonna own the league soon. But right now, big KAT is just taking his ass to the woodshed. Plain and simple." 🏀🎙️#NBAFinals
Because he was drafted with the 57th overall pick, Logan Jones will receive a lifetime supply of ketchup from The Kraft Heinz Company.
Jones didn't know the incentive of his draft slot until informed on a zoom minutes after being selected.
"I love it! I'll take as much as I can get ... Let’s go ketchup!"
