@CallofDuty I'm curious: knowing where players were at all times is what allowed client prediction to start showing a player on your screen through a corner. Without the prediction (due to occlusion), won't a running player simply pop into existence out of the corner on the next tick?
@Dune_KOF Reason is similar to the difference in speed in many other arcade vs home-version games (like CVS2). If the cabinet runs at anything below 60hz (59.XX, 58.XX), then the 60hz version will "eat up" a frame here and there, comparatively, which adds up over time.
@3kliksphilip I'm not sure I can watch your videos anymore now that you gave a nuanced take on something that should be binary. You're supposed to either hate things with all your might, or love them and shill for them. Please improve as a tech influencer. Cheers.
@CM12151054 The reason for the green legs is to avoid rotoscoping their masks.
It comes down to what's easier between:
a) Manually animating masks each frame.
b) Creating a green sleeve for the actors to wear over their right legs.
Also, there shouldn't be much green bleeding here.
@WreckedelkJr@KRawatXP2003 Why is such a talented 19yo a massive troll?
Tone that down. As terrible as DLSS5 might be (or is), your argument goes down the toilet if you purposefully make it look even worse for engagement.
You shouldn't need this to get people to fuck around with your Fortnite mod. Do you?
@dark1x@AceParty Ignoring any type of presentation or gameplay bug (which so far I believe are the strongest points in this remake), it really comes down to the cutscenes. Several factors involved ranging from VA directing to awkward animation. I had low expectations and was pleasantly surprised.
@akiman7@FluOUGWNM997870 Not only that, but the original tweet is showing the sprites in the wrong aspect ratio (as present in CVS2, squashed vertically).
@noottrak@KyokujiFGC It does work on the collection (unnecessary otherwise), due to a mistake on Cap's part. The vast majority of the article explaining the "why" is hallucinations (the kind where LLMs keep pulling out theories with a ridiculous amount of misinformation and contradictions).
@DS2LightingMod@rage_vitamins Thank you for the great effort you've put into DS2LE and now DS3LE, first of all. DS2LE is brilliant and I'm sure DS3LE will be even better.
Out of curiosity: does the mod do anything to address the micro-freezes that mar the PC version?
Cheers
@fubarduck Naomi runs at around ~58hz so it's a minuscule difference compared to the 60hz version. CFC2 runs at exactly 60hz. I've compared them and counted frames. Vodka's recording of the Dreamcast has duplicate frames throughout the recording which add up into that delay at the end.
@DS2LightingMod In other words, if From decided to redo the game with realistic lighting, they'd most likely obtain the same result as you. But because they didn't intend for it to look pitch dark, they'd add more light sources or make the candles bleed color intensely around the walls.
@DS2LightingMod I agree that the original look was incorrect. On the other hand, whenever one attempts to use realistic lighting without adding new probes on what is otherwise something originally set up for baked lighting, things don't look as "intended".
@AvoidThePuddle@nzeropants Anonymous sub (huge fan) avoiding a ban by tweeting instead of live suggesting: keep your output at 720p but change the canvas size to your current monitor resolution with a filtering option (bilinear for example). Blurry = OK. Aliasing = Ass. atpOro
