So, I wrote something all about the online abuse and toxic behaviour from some F1 fans within the community. It’s always disappointing to admit that there is a problem, but the data and examples don’t lie.

"Until we can address the elephant in the room and acknowledge that online abuse is real and damaging, we won’t be able to make meaningful progress towards creating a more inclusive, diverse and accepting F1 community." - Estelle Clapham, @TheFemaleDrive https://t.co/5tNzqZFsKL
While an @F1 winter shutdown is well intentioned (cost saving/employee break), it’s a non-inclusive bandaid 🩹.
The @fia needs to take more thoughtful action to ensure employee wellbeing, while not discriminating or alienating talent.
Awesome to see that @GiveMeSportW has acknowledged our work on trying to combat online abuse. @aretolabs
This is just the beginning. We have a long way to go before we can see actual change and need the people in power to help us. @F1@fia@fiawim
Reports from @TheFemaleDrive and @aretolabs have revealed the extent of social media abuse in the F1 community
The concerning results highlights the need to tackle online abuse in sport immediately
Stories about online abuse, misogyny, and women in politics have sky rocketed since @jacindaardern announced her resignation. Blame has been tossed around and the screaming at the clouds echoes down the streets of Auckland. Let's dig a little deeper. A thread 🧵 #NewZealand
I am so proud of the work that @aretolabs and I have done to investigate this further and finally work towards some action. Although 2022 is over, we still have so much to show on the work that we’ve done.
Stories like this prove just how important the work of organizations like @TheFemaleDrive are. Leagues, teams, and fans need to uplift our athletes - not stand by as they are torn down online. #F1

I am really proud of the work that we have done in partnership with @aretolabs and will continue to do. Whether people want to believe it or not, online abuse and hatred exists heavily in the world of F1.

The comment section of this article shows exactly why more education & solutions are needed. Let's be clear: online abuse should never be tolerated as an occupational hazard regardless of your profession. More about collab with @TheFemaleDrive here: https://t.co/3JgwuS86jO #F1
No rest at the factories.
It is one of the busiest times trying to get designs out, parts made, tested (fixed if needed), etc.
Some will work over the x-mas holidays
Some will be working wknds.
Some are on night shifts.
While the tv coverage ends, the work continues 💪🏽 #F1
There’s a rumour that on top of the @F1 2 week shutdown, there’ll be another 1 week enforced around Christmas in 2023. Fixing 3 weeks of employee holiday may suit those living local and to whom cost is no concern, but what about the rest of us? #F1
