I thought long & hard about whether to take part in the nurses strike this week. I thought & hoped this would never be needed. Yesterday & today, I went on strike for patient safety, for safer staffing, for the safety & well being of my colleagues & for the future of our NHS.

If no action is taken to resolve the record number of unfilled nursing jobs then we risk losing the NHS. We need #FairPayForNursing to turn this around and give the public the care they deserve.

As our fourth day of strike action begins across England, our members call on Rishi Sunak to stop strike action, protect patients and defend our NHS with a fair deal on pay.
