Photo of soldiers with what I believe to be civilian ski hats. Another cool thing to note is that I think both are wearing the rare early war suspenders.
@KeckKalem27339@DavidNaval80138@coolerkdawg@DocStrangelove2 I didn't lie you are just using semantics to be wilfully ignorant of my point, there's literally an "archaic" definition at the bottom that shows how regular people use it in regular speech. This is Twitter not some historical debate where I need to use formal language.
Rare "Blockade" sole most commonly found in or around the Leningrad region during the 900 day seige.

@DavidNaval80138@coolerkdawg@DocStrangelove2 Not gonna deny that, the Soviet famine was extreme. For stature the U.S. definitely wins but in my opinion both had capable men to fight on of the most terrible wars in human history.
@DavidNaval80138@coolerkdawg@DocStrangelove2 Millions did not die from starvation. I'm not saying the United States went through a Holodomor like event as you're trying to hint at. I'm saying most U.S soldiers at this point were very frail and malnourished having to go through extreme poverty during the Great Depression.
@homosovieticus_@coolerkdawg@DocStrangelove2 This is true, I have a few tins of Tushonka which is stewed beef sent en masse to the USSR for rations, Spam was also sent in the millions. The Soviets sarcastic called those rations "the second front" the U.S. was promising
@LibRightOpinion@DocStrangelove2 There are numerous American WW2 experts that recognize the drastic impacts of the Great Depression on U.S. Soldiers during the war. There was a strong concern in the U.S Army to give proper nutrition to soldiers before they went off to war which was the same for the Red Army.
@rountad@DocStrangelove2 They did have enough rifles to give their soldiers, they actually had more than enough, to the point they kinda locked away foreign aid weapons because they had enough guns and they didn't want to deal with supplying a new type of ammunition to their entire front.
