Game developers, publishers, and studios around the world are pledging that they will maintain physical discs as long as possible
After news that PlayStation would be discontinuing theirs starting in 2028
It's so hilarious that between Toy Story 2 and 3, Woody and Buzz meet a group of toys claiming to be regular people from another dimension, then they meet a god who torments them and turns Buzz' weapons real, and they're all like "ah ok" and never mention it again.
cutting physical media cuts costs only for the company. they get to save on production, design, shipping and still charge the same thing with nothing being passed on to the consumer
We heard you. And we agree.

Also missing some games in my Game Overview. Trophies seem to still be there in the Trophy list, and the game hub pages still display correctly, but suffice to say the overview list is way shorter than it used to be.
Si jamais vous n'êtes pas au courant @PlayStation s’est amusé a delete absolument tout vos heures de jeux et trophées psn de tout vos jeux physiques sur votre profil.

I truly don’t recall PlayStation ever getting this much negative press since the PS3 pricing.
Even the previous announcement of the PS3/Vita store shutdown wasn’t this massive.
Hell, people weren’t this mad even when PSN was down for months. They were just disappointed.
Day 1 of posting an image of Nishino Hideaki ( Sony CEO) to spread awareness that he is a fat fuckin chud who wants to take away your ownership by halting the production of game discs.
Thank you for sharing this. Your story is exactly why this discussion matters.
For us, this has never been just about whether games come on a disc or as a download. Physical games represent consumer choice, affordability, game preservation, ownership, lending, gifting, collecting, and access for people who can't always afford to buy new digital titles at full price.
Many players have memories like yours—finding used games, trading with friends, borrowing from family, or saving up for a special collector's edition. Those experiences have been part of gaming for decades.
We'll continue speaking up because we believe players should have the option to choose how they buy and enjoy their games. Supporting digital distribution and preserving physical releases don't have to be mutually exclusive. We believe there's room for both.
Thank you for adding your voice to the conversation. Every respectful message helps demonstrate that this issue matters to many players, and we'll continue advocating for that choice alongside the community.
