@GhettoOutreach Thank you @UgandaDiabetes for an insightful conference. Iโm grateful for the opportunity to learn and look forward to applying these updated guidelines to improve diabetes and chronic disease care in our communities. Together, we can make a difference. ๐บ๐ฌ๐
Yesterday, our Founder & Team Leader, Dr. Bucyana Emmanuel, represented Ghetto Mobile Outreach at the Uganda Diabetes Association (UDA) Annual Scientific Conference 2026.
The newly launched guidelines will strengthen the chronic disease care we provide to our slum communities .
@WinnieKiiza About 5 years ago, as a medical student, I took this photo with a leader I deeply admire and still hold in high regard. Hon. Winnie Kiiza, thank you for always standing with medical interns, speaking for fairness.
Your leadership and mentorship continue to inspire us.
Intern doctors are told there is no money for allowances, yet headlines speak of rising budgets elsewhere in government.
A country that can fund comfort for leaders should be able to fund training for the doctors who save its people.
Priorities matter. #SaveInternAllowances
Medical interns spend a full year providing frontline care.
Scrapping their allowances is not cost-saving.
itโs a direct threat to healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. Uganda must invest in, not undermine, its future health workforce. #SaveInternAllowances#HealthCareUG
@SimonKaggwaNjal@AMCHealthUG Even after death, a patientโs right to confidentiality continues. Consent from family members does not automatically justify disclosure of medical information. Ethically, the hospital still has a duty to protect the patientโs privacy.
