Pauline Hanson is now gaining much political support after the mass murder at #Bondi yesterday.

Yet all Australians should be aware just a few years ago, Hanson’s Chief of Staff was involved (presumably on her behalf) in a plot to raise money from the USA’s NRA to weaken gun laws here, allegedly to allow more gun ownership including legalising automatic or semi-automatic weapons here:

If Hanson had gained the balance of power in government in the intervening years, how many people would have died yesterday if the gunmen had had automatic weapons? And what might happen in future if Hanson gains more political power after the next federal election?

The weapons used yesterday were bolt- or straight-action instead of automatic, and this simple fact saved dozens or even hundreds of lives.

If Hanson still has the same views on guns (and there’s no reason to think she has changed) her increased power in future will be a real and present danger to our usually-peaceful Australian way of life.

Be very, very afraid of this possibility.
