@MasculineTheory As a mere mortal I feel a great deal of shame in pointing this out, but I do it out of concern for the god himself. @KingZeus I think you should take a look at this.
@Alexmathers84 Achilles took one day to mourn the death of Patroclus. Then he went on to murder Hector, bringing about his own death. Perhaps a mental health week would have served him well. 🫧
@iChantiClaire@HelloWolfgang This reminds me of Agamemnon’s decree: “Let not a man of them escape sure destruction and our hands, not even he whom the mother carries in her womb, the male child, may even he not escape, but together, all of them, may they be expunged from Ilion, without burial…[or] trace.”
@ReJen_Zen Hera is threatened into submission: “Sit down and be silent, and obey my word, lest the the gods in Olympus…be of no avail to you against me as I close in, when I lay my unassailable hands upon you.” She is no match for the king of the gods, and she knows it.
@RatcicleFan Only the king of the gods would be so bold as to say, “Hera, do not hope to know all my thoughts; they will be hard for you, although you are my wife.” Any other god or mortal would shudder at the mere thought of saying such words to his wife.
@fordlikethecar Odysseus, as an Epic hero, is the depiction of a faithful Greek man. After all, despite his many "entanglements," he still strives to return home. This is a man of Greek gods not Christian.
@Ukraine As I have said before, "My friends! We will not yet go down to Hades, sad though we are, before our fated day." Even mortals taste immortality until their tasks in this realm are finished. May the gods bless your endeavors.
@pinkheretic You say like the cyclops, "My people think nothing of that Zeus with his big scepter, nor any god; our strength is more than theirs...I do the bidding of my own heart." And yet you wake from your drunken stupor to find your eye gouged out and your flock gone, calling for Nobody.
@RJLetsGo It seems impossible anyone but Hephaestus himself would be capable of creating such beauty from rock. I imagine Hermes must be jealous of such an exact likeness. But perhaps it brings him all the more glory.
@DAMendelsohnNYC@unherd It baffles me why so many are desperate to ban books they have likely never read. Do you know what it is you are seeking to cancel? Can you tell me who came up with the idea of the Trojan horse? Or which Olympic god Odysseus is a descendent of?
@shiftygremlin Crossdressing is no modern invention. Achilles, dressed as a woman in the court of King Lycomedes, might have evaded his death had the Fates not already marked it out.
