@jhakim_edugeek Depending on your perspective, the Spanish would & could make the argument it began in St. Augustine September of 1565--I learned all about that while teaching in the FL panhandle 2006-2017...love the layers in history, just like the jigsaw puzzle you wrote about in AHofUS

@MountVernon@buddysecor My favorite view is from several years ago before the large oak tree (I believe fell) looking south down the Potomac from the piazza. Reminds of my childhood and a possibly view the General himself surely may have enjoyed. The tree was very mature and a wonderful shade tree
