@SportsAnthony I was at the game on Saturday (first time at the bank) and we were all surprised by which stats were on the jumbotron. WAR and WRC+! They even had WOBA, xWOBA, FIP, and xWOBA-against on the smaller monitor down and to the right at the field level.
@YankeeReport_ Sorry, not a Yankees fan, so I’m not watching their games: would it be fair to say that Boone’s getting his numbers juiced by flipping on the Rice/Goldschmidt platoon, both of whom are absolutely tattooing opposite handed pitchers this year?
@JonChumbler@ProspectSpencer You’re the commie. You’re in favor of price controls for a state-granted monopoly. Go back to the USSR. This is America, and we should have free markets.
@gwoyeuromatzyh As someone who speaks enough Chinese to read, but isn’t fluent, written Japanese never fails to stun lock me. Pattern-recognition brain kicks in, but I’m like “this makes no sense. Am I having a stroke?” Which goes on for the 15 seconds it takes to see some Hiragana and get mad.
@Nyanasaur Player 1 by a mile, given that player 2 is probably a bit of a platoon merchant. I’d certainly take both of them over hypothetical Player 3 that I just made up who is a bum from Toronto though, that’s for sure.
@PanasonicDX4500 When the Knicks were down by 30, so I checked on the Mets and saw that they were down by 7 for the second day in a row, I went to a very dark place, lmao
@JJ_McCullough In both of our countries building an apartment building in the suburbs faces insane regulatory hurdles. Now transpose all the lobbying and red tape that presents itself against housing, and apply it to the much viscerally scarier new nuclear power plant.
@GoodFundies He looks good though. If he was getting lit up, I’d say the same thing: the stuff on his sweeper and 4-seam are nice. The cutter/slider thing is a useful element to have in the bag. He just needs to get the splitter back and he could be really good.
@AdequateEmily It’s the natural consequence of an entire generation being brought up where comic books and comic book adaptations are the dominant cultural form. Everyone is stupid and needs to clap like a seal for references, rather than engaging with themes or tight construction.
@thebenchesclear I was at the first two games in the series. Not only did I see multiple people doing business meetings mid-game (selling stuff using powerpoint on a laptop), but in the first game I also sat in front of some medical lobbyists who talked about their work the whole game.
@sportz_nutt51 Get Manaea in there too for good measure. He didn’t get surgery for his loose bodies in the offseason and is still pitching like shit as a result.
