In 1938, Sir Nicholas Winton brought Jewish children from German-occupied Czechoslovakia to safety in the UK.

The IBTS is importing a consignment of blood from the Scottish blood service to address a current shortage in the blood supply. 210 units of Rh Negative blood groups, O negative, A negative and B negative and 200 units of A positive are being collected in Manchester today.

🩸The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is asking donors to make appointments to give blood over the coming weeks. Blood stocks this morning stand at 3 days across the main blood groups. It says Bank Holiday weekends are always difficult as the capacity to collect blood is reduced.
