Adding .env to .gitignore does nothing if the file was already committed. Git only applies ignore rules to files it isn't tracking, so a tracked .env keeps riding along on every push, including the keys you rotate after a leak. Run git ls-files .env.

Real wifi debugging move: run a traceroute to the site you're trying to reach. If the first hop is slow, the problem is your router or modem. If the slowdown shows up later, it's your ISP or the upstream route. Same tool answers a question speed tests can't.
