@GsuGrinding My only real beef is if you’re that high profile/expensive, you should be able to dance better than she did when something goes sidewise during colloquy (well, and don’t call OC a liar).
I assume she is a phenomenal dancer on the merits, but still. Bad look.
@JudgeFergusonTX@am_yers There are 431 state trial court judges in my county, plus a good portion of the 28 fed district judges.
So even to me, a 30 year, many remain invisible.
@JudgeFergusonTX@am_yers Here’s my own concern: if we’re at, say, a little league game, do you really want all those folks knowing you’re a judge?
I have generally gone with “your honor,” and then asked. First names are definitely a no-no, full stop.
@kevinbaum013 I think (but am not sure) most rain ‘heads are barred here. Might’ve been looking at ones that weren’t LF. But rain heads are problematic for me due to height / pipe height.
Like I said, you get used to LF, not a very big deal.
@GsuGrinding@sleepy_lawyer It started as quite the hoigty-toighty experience.
And it was good, but pricey, and I have my limits even with great coffee. Now owned by Peet’s.
@JamesSurowiecki Without getting to the right/wrong, this was a reversal of a bank transfer. That’s not the same as taking it, despite the practical effect being the same.
ACH, wires, and even cashiers checks can be reversed/dishonored, with varying time periods, by the transferor.
@ProfRobAnderson By the time you get there, it far too late to have done anything about it - so maybe it’s simply acceptance?
I had 2 and it was just right - for us.
@jkimballcook I agree wholeheartedly on the second point, which is why I’m against decriminalization. What’s more interesting to me is that many arguments supporting my position in the past came from the faithful (you, typ) not the atheists (me)
@joethebluesman@PatrickW Try otc ones first? I did, and it convinced me I needed hearing aids. I can actually hear conversations now.
Haven’t experienced the far/close bit, but I’ll confirm that both otc and prescription ‘aids have reduced sonic range. OTC’s in particular have less bass.
@PatrickW The average reading proficiency of deaf folks is 4th grade level, so CC isn’t a great option like it is for those of us that developed hearing problems with age.
@AJ_NSKG@GsuGrinding Unitary executive theory is only about one branch - the executive.
The legal debate is in regards to how expansive the president’s power is - again, within the executive branch - and how much it can be limited / constrained by the other two branches.
