Level above “the rest of the competition,”is a huge stretch, but definitely in comparison to every team they’ve been fortunate to come across thus far….
A bigger gulf in class than I thought it would be. France is dealing with any threat Morocco poses with ease.
France has another gear or two to go through.
Stranger things have happened, but France has way too much for Morocco.
The difference in class is a concern for everyone else in the tournament. France is a level above the rest of the competition. But this is football, luck works alongside tactics and individual brilliance.
Granted, they pose an alarming threat in transition that will harm Spain simply based off speed alone, amongst many other factors, but equally believe De la Fuente’s side pose a huge threat to them, and have been the best side in the tournament, FWIW.
Assuming Spain win tomorrow, I’m more interested in Deschamps reverting away from this 4-2-4 and being more cautious as he historically is, because it will determine whether they win this tournament, and that’s always been the case.
Ok, seriously. How does VAR overturn Egypt goal for declaring this a foul?
Absolutely disgraceful decision by VAR. Can understand why people are suggesting FIFA and Argentina conspiracies. Feel for Egypt. It should’ve been their game and their moment
Egypt coach Hossam Hassan says he will not watch a single minute of the remainder of this World Cup because of the "injustice" his team suffered against Argentina.
"It is my own way of speaking up and standing up. I am not going to watch a single match of this tournament."
