@sarah_go_green@G4GUO Only warning I'd say is it will tend to false alert before it's baselined on your health data on certain things (like high heart rate alerts). So it's not as good if you *already* have something wrong when you start wearing. But it does get better over time.
@sarah_go_green@G4GUO I'm sure it won't pickup every case in every circumstance, but it even spotted how it took like near a year to get over the condition after a week in hospital when you looked at the data over time it collected.
@sarah_go_green@G4GUO Yeah, in my case it was more a rising high heart rate pattern it picked up and started beeping (resting rate was 110+. Normal (for me) is like 50. It spotted the trend over 1 day, and started alerting... (then spotted the low blood o2 too). Honestly big fan of Apple.
@sarah_go_green@G4GUO Literally was a health warning, and alert on phone with beeps. Wife rang doc explained the alert, they had me drive immediately to hospital and into critical care ward in 10 mins. Was very seroius, can't fault Apple really.
@G4GUO@sarah_go_green There are some cheap Chinese Β£30 watches which entirely fake the health data though. (and health trackers - https://t.co/JNzSiKdkBl - it's more common than you may think. The Apple watch actually saved me from Pneumonia with its alerts...
@whippletom It's a huge difference in Winter, less so in Summer. Ie, so you'll get a lot less solar in Winter than you would at an higher angle. For Summer sun not really a huge diff though.
@LukeJohnsonRCP The big question is why British Sugar don't buy some offtake from the windfarms connecting nearby given the proxmity and with a private wire agreement they could avoid grid costs entirely. A similar large business I worked for in US got preferential power via a similar PPA.
@johnkpepper@g__j ie, they issued on 23rd for the night of 24th then withdrew on the 24th. It's an entirely seperate EMN. Part of the argument in the substack is they should have raised one on the 22nd for the 23rd.
@johnkpepper@g__j Because there wasn't one. It's a matter of public record. The one you are referring to was raised after this event for the "following" day. This may be becuase they realised how much of a near-miss the 23rd was. (EMN's are issued typically day before they are valid for).
@Bakes_1@Ginger_Tucci@DrRebeccaTidy I think the poor websites lead to the poor newspaper sales. I don't think they realise that. I know locally we are deliverbately using the alternate online (+ paper) that doesn't do this. Basically refuse to give money to a paper with that bad a website.
@Bakes_1@Ginger_Tucci@DrRebeccaTidy I can't understand how they don't see how 40 ads per page is destroying their readership. That and the fake story bullshit that presents as news, but is .. yet another ad.
@Ginger_Tucci@DrRebeccaTidy Have to agree, theres now a competing local news outlet without the horrid ads, and so if I see a story on my local Reach based paper, I'll go to the other paper, as there will be 2 ads instead of 40 to get through.
@L0Psec Any idea how we can get X and others to stop serving these ads -> they are obviously malware, but their automated reporting tools don't cater for this @elonmusk -> if it wasn't being served to millions I'd be less worried.
@MichaelCastill2@KathrynPorter26 Funnily enough the same hot weather we are experiencing at moment also lowers the gas production greatly. 25-50% less at some of the gas plants.
@NJM71@dontdelay Removing the triple lock breaks the social contract though -> if Labour had proposed this 2-3 years after introduction thered be no real issues. But now it's been on pension statements for 15 years, it's a bit of a toughie to remove.
@NJM71@GlynnJo51387208 Btu as you know messingn with the state pension ALSO impacts private pensions as their payouts are always on top of the state pension. It's taking money thats been on pension statements for people (on final salary scheme) statements for > 15 years now.
@dontdelay@NJM71 Their pensions are *also* calculated on a portion of the final salary being the state pension amount -> removing the state portion absoutely impacts their retirement.
@NJM71@GlynnJo51387208 Which is why they forced (new) people onto "new pensions" from around 2010 onwards at the employer I worked at. However many of us older (but still years off retirement age) opted out as is our right. We saw the value of it. Employer had legal advice they couldnt' remove.
@NJM71@GlynnJo51387208 A private pension I have has it. 2 my father has (and receives) have it. Quite common for those of us on the legacy final salary schemes.
Not common on modern pensions I'd agree. But legally they can't remove from the old final salary schemes...
